A four-day workshop on the evolving methodologies in football, organized by Act Sports Di Oyibo Limited in partnership with Delta State Football Association (DFA), aimed at deepening understanding of the Torino FC methodology and enhancing tactical skills. The event took place in Kwale, Delta State, from October 22 to 25, 2024, and was attended by a diverse group of participants, trainers, coaching and technical staff of local football clubs, and media representatives.
The first day began with an accreditation process, followed by a brief press conference. Participants were introduced to the Torino FC methodology, known for its structured approach to football training and emphasis on tactical intelligence and situational awareness. The afternoon session focused on the history and ideology of the organizing Italian football outfit, introducing participants to the principles that have guided Torino FC’s development over decades.
In the evening session, attendees engaged directly with the instructors, discussing various tactical scenarios and training techniques. On-field sessions covered different types of duels and one-on-one (1v1) matchups, with practical training sessions on positioning and timing. Day Two focused on Torino FC’s philosophy and methodological approach to football, followed by hands-on sessions on chain movements for defenders, specifically designed for a four-man defensive line.
Day Three saw attendees practice communication and seamless transitions, focusing on the ball’s movement and anticipating offensive plays. Instructors guided participants through split-second decision-making, imparting tactical awareness essential to maintain defensive integrity.
The workshop concluded with a closing press conference, celebrating the birthday of the event organizer, Pst. Samuel Robinson Oyibo, the Chairman/Managing Director of Act Sports Di Oyibo Ltd and Delta Football Development Centre. A certificate presentation ceremony and photo session commemorated the participants’ successful completion of the workshop with the DFA Chairman, Godwin Adode, popularly known as Coach Tete in attendance.

Making the list of expertise are the First-Team Handler/Head Coach, Ekete Nyerovwo; Assistant Coach, Johnson Oghenetega; Academy Coach, Davidson Otega; Goalkeeper Trainer, Tuxedo Charles; Technical Adviser, Olaogbegbikan Ganiyu; and Football Development Officer Emmanuel Kporharor.
Speaking on the success of this workshop, the former Delta Stars Football Club chairman, now elected football administrator of Delta State underscored the event’s significant impact, noting that such initiatives strengthen footballing fundamentals and provide valuable experiences for coaches, technical experts and administrators alike. The workshop left participants with valuable new knowledge, skills, and an enriched understanding of the Torino FC methodology, which will likely influence their contributions to football in their respective fields.
